Rental investment apartments in the favourite expatriate areas in Malta such as Sliema, St. Julians and Swieqi have and average price per square metre of around €3,200 to €3,500. In such areas one may expect to earn rental earnings of around 4.4% of the cost price p.a. See table.

According to the Central Bank of Malta residential prices in Malta are rising again. “In the second quarter of 2016, the Central Bank of Malta’s index of advertised prices for residential property went up by 8.7% compared with the corresponding quarter of 2015.”
